Maria Sky has lived in many different parts of the United States and has traveled to many different countries.


Her art evolves and changes as there is always something new to learn and explore while creating something new and different.


She has taught in both art and digital mediums - printing, crafts, jewelry, stained glass, textiles, ceramics, graphic arts, photography and animations at Capuchino High School for 32 years and has mentoredart students in the International Baccalaureate Art Program based in Switzerland.


Her first artwork was shown at the inaugural 1969 Arts in the Park, Burlingame. Even though she was in high school, she was awarded 2nd place for her drawing. Her work has also been displayed in Santa Clara at Books Inc, Bank of America, Triton Museum in Santa Clara and locally at the ARTshare 25 Gallery, Art Mirage Gallery, San Mateo County Historical Museum and the San Mateo County Fair, winning first and second place. Her work was accepted at the International Juried Exhibition and Special Animal Art Exhibition hosted by the World Council for Arts and Culture & Wildlife Rescue, Inc. of Palo Alto and displayed at the Herbst International Exhibition Hall in San Francisco.


Many of her most recent works have won several first, second and third Place Awards in various categories at the 2018 San Mateo Fine Arts Fair and has also won the Burlingame Arts Society’s 2018 Best of Show for “Rodeo” a.k.a “Must Ride Fast”


Her work has also been shown in other numerous group exhibitions throughout the San Francisco Bay Area, Colorado and in the United Kingdom. Her drawings, paintings and sculptural work were also accepted and shown at the BABA Jam, Kaleid, Peninsula Open Studios, Art Ark Gallery, 1212 Gallery, Pajaro Valley Arts Gallery, Society of Western Artists, the Burlingame Artists Society Gallery Shows and in the #200Fish exhibition at the North Sea Observatory Art Space in England, Great Britain. She also has had solo shows at Bank of America and Borders Book Store
