About the Artist

Maria Sky

From an early age she was always interested in art and would choose anything related to art over something else. “Long ago, my mother had me make a choice between buying new slippers or a “Make It” artbook. I choose the “Make It” artbook.”

Her art evolves and changes with each change of seasons. Her philosophy is that art is never static. with so many different avenues to explore, innovative ideas are formed with each new art piece.

She has taught in all art and digital mediums - printing, crafts, jewelry, stained glass, textiles, ceramics, graphic arts, photography and animations at Capuchino High School for 32 years and has mentored art students in the International Baccalaureate Art Program based in Switzerland.

Her work has been shown at BABA Jam, Kaleid, Peninsula Open Studios, Art Ark Gallery, 1212 Gallery, Pajaro Valley Arts Gallery, Society of Western Artists, the Burlingame Artists Society Gallery Shows, Vargas Gallery and in the #200Fish exhibition at the North Sea Observatory Art Space in England, Great Britain and solo shows at Bank of America and Borders Book Store.
